Tamarind Pepper Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 200 grams boneless chicken
  • 1 onions
  • 2 tablespoons Mother's Recipe Tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger & Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • salt (To taste)
  • cilantro leaves (for garnish)
  • oil (as required)

Cooking Method
  1. Cut the chicken. Marinate by rubbing 1 tablespoon of tamarind paste, a little pepper and salt. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the onion into thin slices. In a wok, take a little oil and fry the onions. When they brown, add the ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes away.
  3. Now add the marinated chicken and all the remaining ingredients. Make sure the ingredients are well coated.
  4. Pour some water. Cook on high, covered for about ten minutes. When you open the lid, check how cooked the chicken is. If it is almost done, leave it open and cook till the water evaporates and an almost dry, but tender version is created.
  5. If it is still almost half uncooked, add a little more water and close lid and continue to cook. Once the chicken is cooked and the sauce is well absorbed, add the coriander leaves for garnish.
